Due to Government advice the ILC staff will no longer be working in the office, and phone calls are not currently able to be answered. The team will still be contactable via email, so please get in touch on welcome.ilc.semington@googlemail.com and we will do what we can to advise you from home.

We will be closed from 12:30pm on Christmas Eve, and will open again at 9am on 2nd January 2020. We hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

The Independent Living Centre (ILC) would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to Herman Miller Cares for the recent grant funding received in support of our benefits advice service.

This will now help us to reach more people in 2020 in the Wiltshire and B&NES areas that are looking for help with:

1. Assessing their entitlement to benefits,
2. Support with completing forms & submitting claims, &
3. Assisting with appeals.

We also aim to reduce appointment waiting times for this invaluable service so that we can make it as responsive as possible.

Annual General Meeting

We would like to invite you to our AGM on the 8th October 2019 at 10:30am.

Rosie Eliot, Centre Director for Wessex MS Therapy Centre, will be giving a talk about the fantastic service they provide, and the ways they can support people with Multiple Sclerosis and their families. This will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity to tour the Independent Living Centre.

“Hello, I’m Kevin Fairman. I’ve previously worked as a Chief Executive, Operations Director, and Finance Director for charities that support people with learning disabilities & autism, sight loss & hearing loss, and also older people living with dementia.

During my career, I’ve been fortunate to work for organisations with a strong reputation for the quality of service that they provide to people. From all that I have seen to date as the CEO of the ILC, I am confident that I have joined an organisation with the same values and commitment.

I hope that I can now use my skills and experience to help the ILC to further develop its services in the coming years. I believe passionately in what we do and the importance of the impartial advice it provides to older and disabled people living in Wiltshire and BaNES.”

Our normal opening hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 4:30pm, although all visits to the centre are by appointment only.
